The Oliver Peoples Maestro — stylized M∆estro — is a limited-edition square sunglass in black acetate with emerald inlay and carbon grey crystal lenses. Only 100 pieces were produced, and each pair is stamped with its own edition number.
The design looks back to 1950s tailoring: a sharp, squared front with more presence than the era's originals had, cut in acetate rather than the thin metal that dominated the period. What separates it from the standard Maestro is the metalwork. An 18k white gold-plated corewire runs through the frame carrying a custom linear engraved pattern, and at the temple the acetate is laminated over it so the metal shows through rather than being hidden inside. A precious stone sits at the temple tip, and the Oliver Peoples breath logo appears on the frame.
Carbon grey crystal lenses are a neutral dark tint — glass rather than resin, which holds its optical clarity and resists surface scratching better than a plastic lens, at the cost of a little more weight.
Fit
51mm eye, 18mm bridge, 145mm temple. A medium lens front with standard face coverage, meaning it covers an average portion of the face rather than sitting oversized. Universal fit bridge, which accommodates most face shapes and nose bridge heights.
