The Barton Perreira Akahi is a beveled rectangular sunglass in Japanese acetate, shown here in Flirtini Gradient with Smokey Topaz lenses. Its edge comes from the bevel: the acetate is cut back at an angle around the lens rim rather than left flat, so the frame catches light along its front edge and reads sharper than its width suggests.

Flirtini is a gradient acetate, which keeps a rectangle at this scale from going heavy. The smokey topaz lenses are a warm brown that flatters most skin tones and stays comfortable in bright light without the flat grey cast of a standard tint. Anti-reflective coating on the rear surface cuts glare from light behind you.

Fit

53mm eye, 20mm bridge, 145mm temple. The 20mm bridge is wider than most frames of this size, which makes the Akahi a better fit for a lower or flatter nose bridge than a standard 18–19mm frame.
