The Oliver Peoples Finley Esq. Sun is a vintage-inspired round sunglass in Kona Gradient acetate with Terra polarized crystal lenses. It's the frame in the Oliver Peoples line aimed squarely at the sharp dresser — restrained in shape, with the detail work carried in the construction rather than the silhouette.

The front is built from layers of custom-designed acetate rather than cut from a single sheet, which is where the gradient depth in Kona comes from. Functional dual pins sit on the frame front and temples — actual hardware, not decoration, adding strength at the two points where acetate frames typically fail. Inside runs a corewire engraved with the Oliver Peoples logo, and the OP insignia is hand-inlaid at the temple tip. The hinge is a 3-barrel, which is what holds a temple aligned over years rather than loosening into a wobble.

Lenses

Terra is a warm brown polarized crystal — glass, not resin. Polarization filters out light reflected off flat horizontal surfaces, which is the glare that comes off wet roads, car hoods, water and snow. Combined with glass, the result is about as good as sunglass optics get: sharper contrast than a polarized plastic lens, better scratch resistance, and no distortion at the lens edge. The trade is weight.

Fit

53mm eye, 20mm bridge, 145mm temple. A medium lens front with standard face coverage, meaning it covers an average portion of the face rather than sitting oversized. Universal fit nosepads accommodate most face shapes and bridge heights.
