The Oliver Peoples Lumar is a reissue, not a new design. It first appeared in the 1990s and became one of the frames the decade is remembered for — translucent acetate in colors you could see light through, paired with lens tints nobody else was using. The relaunch keeps both, and the color palette is drawn directly from the original run. This is Tesukon Blue with True Brown crystal lenses.

The silhouette is a pillow shape: squared at the corners but softened, with a top line that sweeps slightly upward and a deliberately small eye. That combination is what makes a frame of this era read as vintage without reading as a costume — it sits closer to the face and higher than a modern square would.

The acetate is highly polished Japanese material, and the dual pins set into the frame front and temples are real hardware rather than decoration, adding strength where acetate frames usually give first.

Fit

51mm eye, 19mm bridge, 145mm temple. A medium lens front with standard face coverage, meaning it covers an average portion of the face rather than sitting oversized. Universal fit nosepads suit most bridge heights and face shapes. The Lumar is produced in this size only.
