The Barton Perreira Chevalier 57 is a titanium aviator with a double nose bridge, shown here in rose gold with Ladies Night gradient lenses. It's the sharper end of the aviator lineage — thinner in the rim, harder in the brow line, and closer to the shape's mid-century origins than the rounded versions that came later.

The detail work is where the money went. Filigree etching runs across the double bridge, fine enough that you only see it at close range, and the Barton Perreira signature is engraved into the temples. The arms are tapered and kept deliberately thin, which is possible in titanium and would not be in acetate at this width.

Ladies Night lenses are a gradient — darker at the top, clearing toward the bottom — which is why the frame stays wearable in overcast light as well as full sun. Anti-reflective coating on the rear surface cuts the glare that bounces back when the sun is behind you, and the lenses block 100% of UVA and UVB.

Fit

57mm eye, 15mm bridge, 145mm temple. The Chevalier has adjustable nose pads, which most frames in this category do not — the bridge can be opened, narrowed or raised to sit correctly on your nose rather than relying on the frame's fixed geometry to happen to match. If you have trouble with acetate frames sliding or sitting too low, this is the construction that solves it. Also made in a 62mm eye for a larger fit.
